We adopted the click hinge model HG-MPS2 for the contact prevention cover of the heated part of the filling machine. 【Key Issues】 - A catch was required for both open and closed positions, necessitating the use of two magnetic catches in addition to the hinge. This resulted in a high number of parts and complicated installation. - To reduce management costs, we wanted to decrease the number of parts. 【Solution Points】 We found that the contact prevention cover does not need to be opened and closed frequently, nor does it require a strong holding force that would necessitate magnetic catches. Therefore, we proposed a "click hinge" that temporarily holds the lid at a certain angle. This allows us to consolidate the two components into one product, leading to a reduction in the number of parts and cost savings. Additionally, the installation and removal of the hinge is easy, which improves maintainability.
